Highlands College
Highlands College is a Christ-centered higher education institution in Birmingham, Alabama, dedicated to preparing the next generation of ministry leaders to serve with competence, character, and spiritual maturity. It isn’t just a place to earn a degree. It’s a place designed to shape a life of purpose and service that extends far beyond the campus.
The mission of Highlands College is rooted in the belief that the Church needs leaders who are educated, trained, and equipped to fulfill the Great Commission—not as a slogan, but as a lived calling. To do that, the college uses a holistic model of formation built on four pillars: academic instruction, ministry training, character formation, and spiritual development. This blend ensures students grow not just in knowledge, but in heart and practice as well.
Alongside traditional academic programs in ministry, worship, and leadership, Highlands College emphasizes hands-on ministry experience. Students participate in real ministry environments, including teaching, preaching, and service that give them practical experience while they learn.
The college also equips adults through the Highlands College Leadership Institute, which offers certificate programs in Christian leadership, ministry leadership, and biblical and theological studies, designed to help learners grow in wisdom, insight, and influence wherever they are in life.
Highlands College has grown significantly since its founding and now serves students from across the country and around the world, connecting them with opportunities to lead in local churches, ministries, and communities. Its goals extend beyond graduation: the intent is that every student will be called, transformed, and sent to live and serve with lasting, eternal impact.
The Davis Family supports Highlands College because it reflects a commitment to intentional discipleship and leadership development—young men and women trained not just to know, but to live and lead well in the challenges of ministry and life.
